My Chromebook was on the list for Google Play rollout, but it never came. I'm guessing I won't get this, either. It would be nice to have something very portable and inexpensive to take to club meetings, etc., to do programming for people.

Also found an old (2 years old) Reddit article where someone mentions in
passing running CHIRP using Crouton on a Chromebook (and that it was
working for them).  Crouton lets you run Linux apps on ChromeOS.  But
its function has been rolled into ChromeOS now (see the link above).
