Just a thought. This may be of possible interest.
I recently posted this on the Miklor website.
It’s a $3 conversion of a generic programming cable to a chip/board that loads with no special drivers.
If you’ve got a spare cable, you may want to try it.

It replaces the ‘cloned’ chips with a CP2102. Works every time.

So far I have not had a issue of Windows updates changing the drivers on me. "Knocking on Wood".

Ive upgraded to Win 10 from 7. I did have to reinstall the 3.2.0.0 driver as Win 10 installed a non working new driver. So reinstall 3.2.0.0 and you will be back up and running shortly.
