Please excuse my earlier email. I found the problem to be the USB FTDI cable was not seated fully in the BaoFeng. Chirp works perfectly now.
Thanks for your patience.

Hello to all.
I’m very new to Chirp. I’ve installed the Python package and the daily
build that supports my radio the Baofeng BF-F8HP.
I’m using the BaoFeng FTDI Programming cable. A USB to serial port
appears when I plug it in.
When I try to download the radio’s memory, I get the error “Radio did
not respond”. Chirp seems to run fine.
Could anyone tell me of any procedure I’ve missed or has experience
using OS X Yosemite with Baofeng HT’s?
