I don't understand what the problem is with using a cable with fake Prolific chips. If you know what to look for and what to do when you see it, it is not a big deal. I have several radios (20+), most of the cables have fake chips in them. It takes less than a minute to roll back the driver when needed. Nice thing is, you do it for one cable, it works for all. Nothing to be afraid of, and certainly no reason to spend a bunch of money on new cables, building your own cable, or buying RT Systems stuff when you don't have to.
