Interestingly, I didn't see any issues with your original message on my Android phone using the GMail app. From what little I can see in the app, your message is coming in as UTF8 charset, which might confuse certain email clients, especially on Windows.

Chris - since the issue seems to be in my email, I am a little confused as I definitely do not use question marks instead of apostrophes.

It seems to be some sort of email coding that is changing it. This is also the only group that I have this issue.

I have deliberately not used apostrophes in the previous sentences and and I will refrain from trying to help in the future so you don’t get upset.

Hi, Chris here. What's all this utter nonsense that is becoming more and more common whereby the question mark is used instead of the apostrophe? I'm fed up of seeing stuff that won't read easily because of it, e.g. I?m fed up of seeing stuff that won?t read easily because of it. It?s rubbish! Where did you lot learn English grammar'

Here is the answer I got from FTDI regarding their cable chipsets!
Let me ask again: how many of you are Mac iOS users, and where did you get your cloning cables from?
THanks.

Tip - it?s not Mac iOS (that?s the OS for the iPhone). It?s MacOS.

FTDI does support Mac OS quite well. The cloning cables I've gotten directly from the manufacturer or Valley Enterprises.

Are you asking about iOS, the operating systems on devices like iPhones and iPads; or about MacOS, the operating system on MacBook laptops and iMac desktops? You specifically stated a version of High Seria which makes me think you are actually asking about MacOS, especially since Chirp doesn?t run on iOS. Both FTDI and clone cables are supported on MacOS as well as it?s predecessor Mac OS X.

Cheers,

"FTDI doesn't support iOS" isn't the same thing as " iOS doesn't support FTDI"

Just buy a cable for your radio, perhaps from your radio manufacturer's web site, and try it. Report back on your findings.

Unfortunately, he answered the wrong question. Mac uses macOS (formerly
known as OS X), not iOS. IOS is for the iPhone and iPad.

Here's the page that has the driver from FTDI:

I see clearly where the mistake was made...by me. I?m the one that used ?iOS? instead of just ?Mac OS?. I learned something today. So I will order the cables I need for my two Yaesus, download CHIRP to my MacBook Pro and go on from there. Thanks to all for your assistance.

To all who have been following the work on Wouxun KG-UV8E issue #3943.

I uploaded a debug log and I wasn't expecting my username and password to
be in plain text, so the entire issue had to be deleted.  (Thanks Dan)

Subject: [chirp_users] Linux PPA problem?

I'm using Ubuntu linux here and a couple days ago I got the new daily
build available e-mail notice but I never got the new version when I did
a system upgrade.

Today I looked at the Chirp Launchpad PPA page and it shows the latest
chirp-daily is 20180104 but then it says "5 packages waiting to build".

Is the PPA broken or something?
