Yeah, power is a good thing to check. Maybe move it to another vehicle. I would also check to make sure in CHIRP that all of your channels didn't get set to duplex off. And check your microphone plug... Maybe your PTT isn't triggering. Try another mic if you can. The red light should come on when you push the PTT button.

You should also check with the return policy of where you bought it.
