The app runs right where it is unzipped. It's not in an installed package that mounts when you double click on it. Are you saying you cannot get the app file out of the zip file? Or that the app fill just won't run when clicked on? First off Chirp won't run on Mac unless it's an Intel chipset and processor based. Second you need to install the Python support libraries. They are at the same site where you downloaded the app. Third you need to install a driver for the USB cord. Either the Prolific 2032 or the FTDI driver. I think both are also on the same site as the app.zip file. And I know the Prolific is an an installer format. Probably so for the FTDI chip cord. So if you get all these players together properly it will work.

He's got the .app.zip file. The icon comes up right when it's unzipped for the app.

I admit I'm fishing around here a little but maybe someone can help.
I'm helping someone else (remotely) troubleshoot their CHIRP installation. He says that the binary (unzipped, daily build) won't open on his Macbook.
The binary is for Windows. He needs the .app for OS X.
