On a long shot, have you tried a factory reset, a complete reset not just
some parameters. I forget is the UV5 has two different levels of reset.
Then upload your image to the radio and see what happens. I know from
experience that radios which get all their operating instructions from
the non volatile firmware which is stored along with modifiable ram
can get corrupted and cause some real whacky symptoms. If you have
a current image of your channels give it a try. When the radio reboots
it will upload a fresh operating system from its firmware. Then
you can upload your memory image. Might be the simple fix and I certainly
would be the first to try it.
