      I programmed my companies radios the last time using a micro-usb otg 
adapter with the radio cable.
There's no worries there. As long as it boots Windows, it will work.

Well that all sounds very reassuring to me. especially since I just 
found a 10.1 inch tablet that runs Windows for only $60 on eBay. I 
guess you know by now what my next purchase is going to be! Lol thanks

Paulo, are you saying that it is not likely that software will
never be developed for Android? That would be quite disappointing
if so. I wonder are there any tablets that run Windows! would it

It's just a matter of the type of radio (driver on cable or on radio)
and the driver used. If it recognizes it as an COM port, it should
work.
The software is the tricky part.
