If I understand the instructions correctly on the danplanet website, then I should select the Baofeng BF-F8HP model in Chirp to program the UV-5RTP. Am I correct?

Hi Dan,

You understand perfectly. UV-5R type radios with 2 power levels use the UV-5R model selection. UV-5R type radios with 3 power levels use the BF-F8HP selection.
