Has anyone burned the iso recently?
Yes. I recently put Mint on a very old laptop.
I've been using Debian, but just now switched to latest Mint. I have tried unetbootin, "Disks", and various other tools. I get messages saying this is not a bootable disk.
I usually use unetbootin, but rufus and etcher also work for me.
Make sure you have a good quality flash drive. I've had similar issues and switching to a different USB stick solved the problem.
