Apologies for the formatting on that last reply. Thunderbird was defaulting to Western encoding, which was apparently not playing well with the list software. I've switched to Unicode and cleaned up the extraneous "�" characters below. If they show up again then I will just leave well enough alone...

In the CHIRP program, the"Download From Radio" dialog has an option under Vendor "Wouxun" for Model "KG-UVD1P". It appears that option should also work for the KG-UV3D. See line 60 or thereabouts in what appears to be the latest version of wouxun.py, from the CHIRP Repository, here:
