Did I understand the alternate instructions (starting TX, then RX after it errors) worked for you using CHIRP?

It works! Yay!! Here are the steps I followed:
1. I have the CD that came with the cable. So that's a plus! 2. I disconnected from the Internet completely so it wouldn't go looking for the Windows update version of the driver. 3. I un-installed the driver from the PC so it would liik for the driver again. 4. Plugged in the cable and told it I had the CD. 5. Voila!! CHIRP now works!!
