Hi E M,

Unfortunately you haven't mentioned what the error message is so the
best thing I can do is guess. A common problem of these radios is poor
positioning of the socket in the case. Most likely, this is causing
the 2-pin plug of known working programming cable to not fully engage
in the socket of the radio. A common workaround is to put some
pressure on the 2-pin plug in an effort to get it to become fully
engaged during the cloning process.
