Ok, thanks Ken. My suspicion has been realized, Chirp works with the PX-777, and PX-888K, but not the PX-888.

I believe this to be the case, and said as much in my previous response, which included a link to a CHIRP support discussion that was updated as recently as a month ago, discussing how CHIRP doesn't support that exact model.
