The FT-8900 organizes its memory differently than the FT-8800. Instead of having two separate memories for the left and right sides of the radio, there is just a single memory bank. I have downloaded the contents of my 8900 onto chirp. When I view the settings it only shows one set of info, there is no way to edit the Left and Right hand sides separately. Mac macOS Big Sur V: 11.5.2 Chirp Chirp daily-20210814 QYT KT-8900D Having once successfully uploaded to the QYT radio (yes, I downloaded first then copy/past and uploaded to radio), I magically can not get the computer/radio to clone. For Download to radio I Use: PORT: /dev/cu.usbserial-1420 VENDOR: QYT MODEL: KT8900D All software/drivers up to date. Anyone have an idea how I can use the computer/cable/radio set again??? Tim

Hi! Trying to make the subject computer and software run. Had it running, albeit without the Mac drivers and the 2021/08/30 distribution broke it. Anybody else trying to get this to work and how did you do it? Thanks, Kerry

Yaesu FT270 H/H Greetings, so far I have used CHIRP with 100% success in programming many radios. What I REALLY need is being able to program the YAESU FT270 Hand Held. When is one of you brilliant guys going to update CHIRP with this radio? [chirp_users] CHIRP under Debian Linux

Unfortunately, CHIRP under Slackware on my wonderful SLINT.fr installation variety is failing to work. I prefer to run Debian because it has many more CLI - Command Line Interface - programs than Ubuntu. Does anyone have a proven method of adding repositories to the /etc/apt/sources.list in Debian Sid? With hopeful wishes, I remain, respectfully yours. David N1EA =30=

Adding to my previous note: I was able to download the Retevis software and read/program my radio, so the comms between laptop & radio should be OK. When I went to the mfg website snd selected the RT98 Vhf radio, I was told to use the proper software based on my radios serial number. My radio serial # is 1907.... so I used V1.01, there is another version (1.02?) for radios with a higher serial number range. I suspect CHIRP isn't handling the particular model I have well. I'm good to program my radio for my needs, but I'm happy to help with testing/debugging if needed to improve support for this radio.
