Hello Everyone, I've been a happy Chirp user for a long time but haven't upgraded for some time. [chirp_users] Trouble Importing Channels

Hi All, Hoping someone here will be able to help. Ubuntu 16.43, and I'm trying to import a CSV file that I have used on my Baofengs, onto a new radio. It is a Wouxun KG UV 7D. I selected the 6D in the radio list in the Chirp radio selection, since when looking for the manual at the Wouxun site, I contacted them looking for the manual and they suggested I use the 6D manual, because the only difference is the power. So the 6D selection should work in Chirp, it would seem. My radio is the 2 & 6 meter model. One thing it says is that I have an error on line 74, and I looked at that with Libra Office and couldn't find any problem. But it leaves out a local repeater channel that normally goes right into a Baofeng with Chirp, and it also left out the 6 meter channels I put in. The channel numbers are there, but no values in the fields. If anyone has any ideas, or can look over my CSV file, I would much appreciate it. Thanks. Glenn

I and a few others are working on updating the chirp package in pkgsrc from the last release to a daily snapshot. That caused me to look at our package, and I see that it depends on py-gtk2, which in pkgsrc is marked as python 2.7 only. In general we're trying to have packages be able to build with python 3 when that's doable. I went to see if we were missing a py-gtk update that let it use python 3, and we have the last PyGTK release from upstream 2.24.0 that actally has source code. not sure how to reply to messages, not seen a forum like this before.. on in my Chirp i select radio BF-A58S is 'settings' and then 'other settings' i have VHF lower limit 136Mhz upper limit 174Mhz UHF lower limit 400mhz upper limit 520Mhz i can't see anything which mentions 200Mhz to 260Mhz ?? hence why i'm unsure that if i start adding 220Mhz channels and such like that when i try to upload it'll either deny them or brick the radio.. yes i have half a dozen already programmed in by the factory, but also all the 220 channels and a couple of UHF have a \ next to them where it's meant to say channel name.. [chirp_users] Update on ANYTone 7787uv no TX on UHF

Well, I've been pecking away at it and finally solved the mystery. At first it would seem to have been some kind of antenna issue so I switched over to my Arrow and had the same results....about 1 microsecond of TX and then gone. This all seemed to have started after I first loaded the memories using CHIRP. I didn't deliberately change any parameter that would stop TX on UHF but apparently there is one. I went to Function Memory 18 which allows the rig to be reset in one of two ways. The first way is a complete reset of every parameter and clearing the memories back to factory default. The second way will clear the parameters and leave the memories in tact. That was the way that finally let me start transmitting again on UHF. I am unable, at this time, to see these parameters but obviously something had to go back to factory default. hi hi Had to make a run to Huntington WV today and, of course, no one answered with whom I could try out the rig hi hi Maybe next time 73 John KI4RO
