Fixes #6457 This radio stores some flags indicating the tuning step of the frequency, and the frequency as a multiple of the tuning step. This patch adds support for a frequency that is a multiple of 6.25 kHz for both the frequency and offset. Still missing is support for a multiple of 25/3 kHz.

[chirp_users] FT-8900 Banks and Settings missing

I have a FT-8800 which I have programmed with Chirp. Work mostly fine. I recently purchased an FT-8900 and downloaded the settings from the radio and found that there are no Banks tab, or right memory tab, or Settings tab, which are also missing from the FT-8800 page. Are there plans to complete the FT-8900 file layout to where the banks can be programmed? What would it take to contribute to the effort? I have many years of programming experience, but have no clue as to what is involved with the different rig definition files. Thanks, Doug - W7DRM

Hi Team that's my first email on this mailling list , and nearly my first email on a mailling list :) , i hope i will not do mistakes . My radio is a Baofeng UV-6R I've recently installed CHIRP on a WIN7 Virtual-machine , and on my Mac . In both system i can read and right in Memory tab ( frequency , channel and so on) , no problem. but i see a "Setting tab" , this one is completely blank . i've checked on internet and in all mods ( ie. for UV-5xx) guys are using setting to change freq. range or other stuff .. please find in attache a screenshot any advice? [chirp_users] DMR Support?

So I got a D-Star, YSF, and am looking to purchase a DMR. None of the two radios in those modes that I have are supported under Chirp. Just wondering if the same is true of any DMR before I buy one this time? From all I am reading, DMR pretty much requires software to program it because it's so complex. TIA, Emilio

Since the driver defines the compatible set, it should expose that in features. #6469 #6467

[chirp_users] TYT TH-9800power levels

Hi, I tried importing a CSV file from my Baofeng into my new radio, the TYT, and after importing it, I read that all the power levels are on low. I noticed that I could use the properties to change it, but that is a lot of fields to do that to. When I open that CSV file in Excel, it shows that field as a 5 if I'm reading the correct field. If that is not the field, then the field with the power is not showing up in Excel. Also, while importing it, it encountered an error on line 160, but that is just one of the CB frequencies I put in, but it is not the first field, it is about half-way through the CB frequencies, I don't know what that is about. Realized it was doing something stupid while trying to run it against the CSV driver (which supports DC->daylight). Some radios were claiming to support steps they don't support because they were taking the full list in chirp_common as a default, which is clearly wrong. This patch changes the default to a very conservative set, which may cause some drivers to no longer accept some frequencies that may be valid because they were not declaring their real supported list. This also uncovered at least one buggy driver that can't support anything other than 5kHz step frequencies (ic2730). Found in the pursuit of #495

[chirp_users] BF-888S Language/Step Problem

I've been happily using CHIRP to program BF-888S radios but today I ran into a problem with the language and frequency step entries (I'm using CHIRP daily-20190217). o When using my stored .img file for the BF-888S the frequencies upload correctly but the voice announcements are in Chinese even though English is selected in Settings. o When trying to manually enter a frequency ending in, for example, .5875, into an .img file, an error message appears stating "Error setting memory: Tuning step 12.50 not supported, Frequency requires 12.50kHz step". I've never run into either of these problems before and would be grateful for any advice and guidance. Thanks, RD ========================= Richard Dillman =========================
