I'm wondering if anyone else has had issues using Chirp with a Yaesu FTM-350AR radio. I haven't been able to get chirp to download the radio config. I am using a FTDI cable and windows 10. I was not able to find FIFO settings to disable. Apparently this release of the driver doesn't have the ability to easily disable FIFO? I've tried two cables, running chirp in admin mode. Passing the usb cable to windows 7 VM didn't work either. Same cable was used to upgrade the firmware to 1.6 on the radio. Seems to have worked fine. Radio is in programming mode. Head disconncted from the body. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Just doesn't connect. To James KC1ECV, You were right my friend about turning duplex to off to kill the transmit. I guess that particular radio can't be affected by that so now I guess you'll have to set a switch in your own mind do not grab the mic while monitoring those PS channels. Sorry to have misled you but that was a learning point for me and it won't happen again. hi hi

Using Debian Linux 8, CHIRP daily-20151023 (latest downloaded from the CHIRP page), and an FTDI cable from Valley Enterprises. I can download settings from my Yaesu FT-8800 just fine. But when I try to upload settings, I get this: ERROR: ---------------- ERROR: Clone failed: Radio did not ack block at 0 ERROR: --- Exception Dialog: Radio did not ack block at 0 --- ERROR: None What's wrong? -- David Griffith dave(a)661.org A: Because it fouls the order in which people normally read text. I just got my hands on a th 900d 144 radio. I have hooked it up and programed it with local repeaters and frequencies no problem. Now what I am trying to do is import some local public service frequencies, but have the transmit turned off on these channels. I have done this with CHIRP on a baofeng handheld using the option of off in duplex, but that does not work with the th 9000d. Does anyone know of a way in the csv to disable transmit on certain channels for the th 9000d? Thanks for you help James Jalbert KC1ECV

I just saved my current chirp image as a CSV file to my Documents folder. Upon examining that folder I found all my other image saves, but alas, no CSV file. I tried to save 3 more times but no joy. anybody have any ideas where this might be going? I am running Windows Vista on a laptop.

[chirp_users] Trying to read 849 memories?

HI, After more playing around with it I don't understand why Chirp is trying to read 849 memories for Band A. Band A only has 799 memories. I entered memory range 0 to 799 and clicked Refresh, it read 799 memories, but on clicking Banks (Band A) it tried to retrieve bank information for memory 749. So the range doesn't apply to the Banks tabs and Chirp reports errors and wont read any more from the radio until I close and open again. At least it's talking to the radio but doesn't seem to know how many locations to read. Thanks Wenlock

Trying to program FT897 running win8, the prolific driver is good, I can use my other cables to program baofeng radios fine. the cable for the 897 when plugged in results in no errors, I have the latest Chirp daily build installed. when trying to download from the radio, it does not communicate at all. I set the baud rate on both the radio and the com port to make sure they are the same no luck, any other ideas for things i can try? sorry if this is dupe, the first one i got a bounce thanks

Hello group! I got a UV-B5 and I don't have any problem down loading radio to computer and then uploading program to the UV-B5. But this is what happens, if I have a repeater that has a "-" on the offset, the radio will take it and after you use it one time, the radio will by itself change all the "-" to "+" on every repeater that is in the radio. Is there any help for the radio or just use it for all the repeaters that have a "+" for the offset? Lamar KT4DLB

Anyone able to use CHIRP with TYT TH-UVF9? I have radio but driver is not listed in current version drop-down menu. Tried other selections but no work. Any suggestions?
