Yep, and just to further explain how these builds are created for those that are interested (and/or are wondering how we attempt to protect our users who trust our builds): Every night, when a change is pending, the build server literally builds an entirely new Windows 7 virtual machine with known-good copies of all of our base dependencies. It then creates the new chirp build on that machine and uploads it to the chirp website. When it's done, it *destroys* the temporary machine it created. The next day, the whole thing starts from scratch. The process takes about 10 minutes total and occurs on an almost completely sealed private network. Hi I reprogrammed a UV5RA radio with the latest CHIRP, and the audio quit for received signals. Audio works fine for button beeps, turn on beeps, and if you hold down the monitor button. Audio works once in a while for a received signal, but very infrequently. I tried the Miklor factory reset using the original factory image file, no good. Radio has N5R2401 firmware, BFB297 software, says 141206N for the start up. Loaded chirp 20150714, loaded N5R2401 factory image, uploaded to radio. Loaded chirp 20151013, downloaded radio, copied frequency info over, no audio for reception. Speaker works fine for any beeps, same with a speaker mike that works great on another radio. Any ideas? Hi I have a Puxing 777 that Chirp will download from the radio, and upload to the radio. I cannot make any changes to existing frequencies, as Chirp give a message that the frequency is out of range. Panda reported a virus W32/Exploit.gen in Oct9 daily build and also today, Oct 13. My system Win7 on Toshib Ultrabook Core i3. Please, advise. Best, Alex.

I've never used CHIRP and I am very confused. I just purchased a JT270M and can read from radio to CHIRP, but not write CHIRP to the radio. Jetstream advised me that CHIRP and the 270M will not work with WIN 10. I will not get into the quality of support from them in this section. I do have a machine with WIN7 on it and I get the same issue. I did get the VV898 software to load the 270 M ( 1 test freq)but with errors (No ALPHA Tag). Jetstream suggested a different prolific driver, but as of yet, nothing has been offered to me from them to use. I am fair with computers, and I wish to determine the following: 1) Which OS to use 2) Which driver do I use for the prolific driver (USB w/chipset) 3) Any other suggestions that you may have. Dan, et alia: In RE: TYT / Tytera MD-380 -------------------------- Is there any plan or does this to be able to get this radio to be supported by chirp? In Re: ICOM ID-51A Plus or ICOM ID-51A Anniversary Edition ---------------------------------------------------------- (I am not asking about the regular ID-51) I am going to be purchasing soon the ID-51A Anniversary Edition or ID51-A Plus quite soon and already own an ID-5100 (I also own an ICOM IC-2820, ICOM W32A, Kenwood D700). What is the status of CHIRP relative to these radios and what cables are recommended to effectuate programming? I did look on the Wiki and FAQ and saw no reference to cables for ID-51A style radios. I own an OPC-478 (serial cable) - though would buy an OPC-478USB I also own an RT Systems cable for the 91AD also. I want to figure out what cables I need to program all the radios I have in the fewest collection of cables. :) Thanks in advance! 73, Stuart, N3GWG

[chirp_users] 70MHz channels

I'm using a TYT 9800, which supports 66-80MHz, I think. I've been trying to set frequencies within this range, but CHIRP complains that they are out of supported range. I'm guessing that msg comes from CHIRP, not the radio, since it isn't connected at the time. Regards, SR

I have the baefeng BF-F8HP. I have downloaded the CHIRPS and i am trying to download from the radio but it is not reconizing the radio. Any ideas? I tried all the Baefeng radios listed. I did get a different error on the uv-3r i think it was, the last one on list that said it failed first step. All the others say radio did not respond. Anybody have any ideas.

This syntax works for all port numbers and hardware that allows COM port numbers to be specified." But there is not quite right :) They write "\\.\COM10" it's not going to work. Correctly so: "\\\\.\\COM10" I tested on Win7x32, COM > 9. Work correctly. Added fixes to the drop-down list of ports. In the name of the port removing unnecessary characters for the user's convenience.
