Okay. I've Tried the IC-2200H with and without the cloning mode and from VFO. I get these messages: Right after powere up VFO mode Failed to communicate with the radio: I can't talk to this model From Clone mode Failed to communicate with the radio: Out of sync with radio Clone or not Clone mode "Icom Detect" Unable to get radio model I am using the RT Systems USB-29A cable marked as Maxton IV8 which is, according to RT Systems, ompatible with the IC-2200 and the IC-2300 (no 'H'). I can program my Baofeng just fine with its cable. So. Just what are the instructions for Chirp with the IC-2200H? Thanks! 73 Gary W8RGB

[chirp_users] Suggestions for mag-mount dual-band antenna

I'd appreciate suggestions from Baofeng users about mag-mount dual-band 2m / 70cm antennas that are working well. Of course a perfect antenna will be a great find, but if I have to prioritize, these will do: * One choice >$60, one choice $60-$120 * Zero or minimal scratching * Perfect retention at air speeds <80 mph * 2m probably slightly higher priority * Receiving probably slightly higher priority for now * At least good transmitting My unit is a UV-5RE Plus. Hi All I am using Chirp on Puppy Linux Slacko (Slackware) I am using the source code of Chirp. In Slacko I have the full Python development system. The only other thing I had to install to get Chirp to work was Python Serial. I started up Chirp by typing into the terminal window chirpw. I was able to down load the image of my IcomV82 into Chirp. I noticed on the Repeater2 column that the callsign was W2DNY C. Is this normal? Shouldn't the C be a G? I clicked on the WD2NY C in the Repeater2 column and a drop down list opened which only contained WD2NY C and the other repeater callsigns that I have programed into my radio. All the callsigns had a C at the end none with a G at the end. These Callsigns are in my Repeater1 column which a C makes sense. Again shouldn't the Repeater2 callsings have a G for gateway. The memories in the radio for Repeater2 all have a G in them. It looks like Chirp did not read the repeater2 memories of the radio correctly. Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Hi Guys, has anyone got the Wouxun KGUV8D and KGUV950P details worked out for chirp yet. I use chirp for my baofengs and would love to have all my radios working on chirp. Hopefully one of you gurus out there could program these in???? Thanks in advance

Hello, I just joined this group, after downloading and using CHIRP. Thank you all for a very helpful application. The principal at my son's school asked for my help. They have a number of Motorola XTN XU2600 radios, that they'd like to gradually replace with Baofeng BF-888S ones. I'm trying to use CHIRP to program the Baofeng radios so that they interoperate with the Motorola ones, using the same channel numbers. I was able to run CHIRP and successfully downloaded the settings from the Baofeng. However, I don't have a programming cable for the Motorola, and the Baofeng one doesn't fit. I changed the frequencies in the Baofeng to match the UHF frequencies I found in the Motorola user's manual, but the radios don't communicate. I left all the other columns unchanged. Subsequently, I changed the 'TONE Mode' to 'None' for all the channels. I then noticed that the Baofeng could receive on channel 1 when I transmitted on the Motorola on channel one, but the Motorola couldn't receive from the Baofeng. I believe that I need all the information for all the columns to get the Baofeng working with the Motorola. Can anyone point me to a CHIRP .img file or a .cvs file for the Motorola XTN XU2600?
