I am very new to this so please bear with me..... I was programming a local repeater with the daily build of CHIRP, setting the off set to +. But when I go into the menu system the offset (menu item 25 - SFT-D) is always set to off. Not + as I set it in chirp. I can manually make the change to a + offset. (I do get broadcasts from the repeater so all seems well) I also set the offset (menu item 26 - OFFSET ) to 0.600 MHZ in CHIRP but it is always 0.00 and will not manually take a change. Is there a bug in this build? Very perplexing as to what is going on. Any help much appreciated. Thanks Joe

Hi ! When you first start up your laptop or pc hit f12. That should give you the choice to boot from a CD or if the unit is new enough an external drive or flash . willc.

[chirp_users] vx-2 problem

I am having problems writing from chirp to my vx-2. It downloads from the radio ok, but when I try to write to it (real serial port com1), it says it does not get a reply. I usually use vx-2 commander and it works correctly downloading and uploading. Hi, thanks for this help page. I have followed the instructions to download to a bootable cd/dvd, but when completed it would not load. I also could not install manually in that the files would not open with any thing I tried. Next I downloaded chirp for windows (my version is 7) and can not find an installation file in the download.
