I read something about there being diffrent versions which require separate programming software. I think it was on the Baeofeng USA website. [chirp_users] Failure to connect to IC2200H

I use CHIRP for UV-5R and like it fine. However,I want to use it for my mobile and I got an error "Global name "data undefined". I got a copy of the Icom sw and it will not connect either. I am using Vista and a genuine Prolific cable. Am getting worn out up and down steps carrying the laptop. HELP! What does that error message denote? 73 GL CUL DE WA8WHP (FRANK) AR

I think no matter what radio you are programming you always need to download from the radio first. Jock KC6IIH In a message dated 10/24/2012 9:19:40 A.M. What you cannot do, is load one radio, then go to the other radio, and load it. While I know what CTCSS and DCS tones are and how to program them, I don't know what the differences between Tone vs Tone Sql & DTCS Code vs DTCS Rx Code are. Can someone please explain the differences? N9PTC

hi folks: after filling out login form and zipcode, receive the following error: Suds library required for RadioReference.com import. > Try installing your distribution's python-suds package. i checked with some of the bug pages and found one user who provided approx 10-12 steps to fix this. unsure if his workaround is the accepted way to do it though. just wondering if someone can point me to an 'approved' way to install this library. also, i also noticed today that installing the kk7ds runtime left the /opt directory hanging out in the breeze in that it is not hidden like the rest of the / folders. i did a 'sudo chflags hidden /opt' to hide it, but i'm unsure of the ramifications of doing that. thanks, /guy (73 de kg5vt | wqpz784)

[chirp_users] Copy Paste Function

Am I wrong or is there a copy & paste function? Also, when I downloaded my original load to the chirp software the PL tones that I used in the other software transferred over fine, but when I add frequencies using the chirp software for my UV5RC, I input the PL tones, but after I hit OK, they go back to the default.
