[chirp_devel] [uv-5r] service menus in programming sw
Been hacking away on some of these jujumao binaries (generic, extra-super crappy 1994 VB programming sw for these baofeng/baojie/baowow radios)..
Anyhow, for those of you who are extremely adventureous, I have re-enabled several disabled service menus (other) in the latest Uv-5r software, UV_5R_NEWOLD (http://www.miklor.com/uv5r/software/UV5R_NewOldEng_v12.10.25.zip)
I have tried my best to restore translations thanks to google translate and python-fu, but I dont speak chinese!
Anyhow, Maybe someone w/ UV-5R interest can use this in conjunction w/ my bitdiff.py to map out the service settings, etc.
Here is the executable, you can drop next to the existing exe from UV_5R_NEWOLD: https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=14DD1F51D490C59E!587&authkey=!AE4C...

Cool, yeah if you need me to, I can go over some of those settings with yah.
I see everything in chirp memory map for this radio is offset +8 from radios memory due to storing the ident response as a header in the chirp file.
I'm thinking the .adj (what the service menu "save" spits out) is actually bytes 0x1808 onwards in the chirp memory map.
I just submitted a patch to extend my bitdiff.py tool to covert to/from those .adj/.dat formats it spits out to raw bin/img.
This might make it easier to do testing, etc by grafting in certain byte blocks from chirp image to/from this "jujumao" software.
