That is fine. I was seeking some discussion/consensus note of what I had missed/not understood etc first. The new mode in the list could just be called just C4FM. there are DN (standard) and VW (high quality) variants, but I don't "think" it is necessary to have them as separate modes. Perhaps just default to dn and set vw if required in memory.extras.

Yep, I think that makes sense. If C4FM is really the mode, with different types of operation then it makes sense to just have the latter be flags in mem.extra.
