For support of the FT70 (Fusion radio)- which is progressing I would like to add a few columns to the display

I’d really prefer you just put fusion-specific things in mem.extra. That will allow them to be editable by choosing properties in the right-click menu. I really should never have put the D-STAR fields in the editor, but alas, I started chirp amid the height of D-STAR hope and hype :)

Is this different than the alpha tag?

Narrow/Wide Dev

Does it make sense to handle this like FM and NFM? If not, probably just a “narrow” flag specific to fusion.

Another question what are Fusion repeaters referred as in CHIRP Auto? as DIGI and DV are the only other options?

If it’s a mode in and of itself, we need to add a mode in chirp for it. DV is D-STAR specifically, so that’s not appropriate. Someone more familiar with fusion should comment on whether it’s a flag or a mode (I assume the latter).
