I was browsing the issues in redmine to see if anything interesting caught my eye and found this one https://chirp.danplanet.com/issues/8067 "Version guidance for packagers is unclear"

In the issue, Greg is asking about chirp versioning and stable releases so he can update things in pkgsrc. I said I would ping you on the mailing list to see if you could give a more authoritive answer.
