[chirp_devel] Support for non-CTCSS/DCS tones
Hello,
I was working on support for the Anytone AT-3318UV-D and noticed that is supports additional types of tones besides just CTCSS and DCS. It has support for 2-Tone, 5-Tone, MSK, and DTMF tones. I did not see any support for these additional tones in Chirp. Are there any plans to support these tones, or any demand to add them in?

You will be able to implement these settings with the extra settings (mem.extra) feature.
If we end up with multiple similar implementations with extra settings and there is demand for it, we could make them a standard setting. Considering you're the first one to ask and most ham radios don't have this feature, I don't expect demand any time soon.

I have had the Anytone 5888 for almost two years and am looking forward to full access to all of the settings. Right now I have to do some of it in CHiRP and some of it in the quirky QPS software.

Charles,
Which tones do you use, and what are you using them for? I know a few of my radios support them, but I haven't had a chance to use them yet.
I don't have an Anytone 5888, but they do seem to have a lot in common with the handheld I have. Once I get the AT-3318UV support completed, I could take a look at adding the extra tones to the existing 5888 code. I would probably just need an image file containing memories with those tones and a description of which tone types and values corresponded to each memory.
