[chirp_devel] Repeaterbook and CHIRP support for outside of North America
Repeaterbook has been providing repeater listings for countries outside of North America for more than a year now. Are you interested in adding support for Canada, Mexico, and other countries?
There are a variety of queries that can be run. For example, all of a country or a search for repeaters within a certain radius, even if it goes over political lines. I can also handle searching on multiple bands at one time.

What type of interface/fields would you recommend for a versatile search? Obviously limiting it to zipcode is not very versatile (but it was easy to implement).

If you have a geocoding engine you can send me that lat/long in decimal format and I can search on a radius. I can also do the geocoding on the fly on my end and convert for lat/long.
I can do a search for within any political boundary.
Think Europe. What would be the query to get all of the 2m and 440 repeaters out of London, England.
CHIRP already sends a query to Repeaterbook. It's just a URl that returns the data. Adding a couple of variables could add more functionality.
Currently, only the US is enabled for import within CHIRP, but we are in many countries, so it could be really expanded.

I'm not a huge fan of geocoding, but we could certainly offer lat, lon, and radius fields.

Indeed, the question is which variables should be added. Do you have an API reference?

I just wanted to follow up on this. Can you send me some sort of documentation or an example geo query so I know how to add it to Chirp?
