Cool, but, IIRC once you flip the jumpers you have to start communicating with the radio as a different model, no? We don't have an "unlocked" variant for the vx5 AFAIK. Is this not a problem with the virtual jumpers?
My recollection is that during the operation where you change the virtual jumpers, you must change only the jumpers. No changes to any memories or settings. Do your upload with the new jumpers.
Now that the jumpers have changed, you cannot use your old img files. Download a new img from the radio. Now you can import your old memories into the new img, but not use it directly.
Other Yaesu radios were written with different (more specific) model detection and will not detect the model after the jumpers change. The VX5 model detection is broader and doesn't take the jumper position into account, which is why you need to manually track which img files match the current jumper positions.
