Yes. I believe this is already done when downloading or uploading. I see the "Ident:" in the command window. It displays the data that I think we can match against.

Maybe take a look at how we do the firmware detection (and rejection) as well as how the F-11 subclass overrides the _idents and _basetype variable from the parent UV5R class. Then we can talk about details.
