Well, I have python 2 running well enough for an IC-7000 and IC-2820H but I get an error with my Alinco DJ-G7.  Next to look at debug.log… um…

I don’t have ~/.chirp/debug.log.  Did I break the debug log?  Am I doing something silly like looking in the wrong place or for the wrong name?

Martin, thanks for offering the help.  When I’m looking at the IC-7000 again, I’ll keep you in mind.

Hi Joseph,

Welcome back! Just FYI, I'm the last one who was in the icomciv.py code, adding support for the IC-910H and fixing a bug in the IC-7100 code. Since, as you'll know, there's a lot of shared code amongst the CI-V radios, I just wanted to drop you a note and say: if you end up back in that code again, and have questions about what you see, please don't hesitate to ask. I'd be happy to help, if I can.

Martin.

The last few years have been a little… distracting but I’m anxious to get back to chirp.  I did some work on the Icom IC-7000 driver in the past.  So:

  • How do I install python-libxslt1, python-gtk2, python-serial, and  python-suds on Ubuntu Focal?
  • Should I be looking at the Python 3 branch instead?
