For some reason looks like this patch never made it in. I did have a few indentation problems, which may be why.

Ok, yeah, an unfortunate artifact of constantly moving between mac/textmate and ubuntu/sublime for text editing ;)
I used hg qdiff -w for the patch body, and that seemed to clean up most of the noise...

Now, trying to finish VX-2 driver to get initial patch merge-worthy...
