That is indeed the correct file for a complete backup.

There is a firmware update, but it may have no effect on the memory map, ADMS has not been updated.

HRO has FTM500 stock now, ordered one.

I inserted a new 32 gb microSD card, turned the radio on, added my call sign at the initial screen, then I formatted the card.

I then did a backup of ALL settings to the microSD card. 

I hadn't done any changes or added any memories or anything. Just stock from the factory.

After doing the backup there were a number of directories and files in the root of the microSD card. I'm not 100% sure which file is the backup image, but I think it is the CLNFTM500D.dat file that I've attached to this email.
