I saw that there's a request in for support for the newer Baofeng HT's already, including the UV17 Pro GPS. I was wondering if anyone has started working on integrating that into Chirp? If so, I'd be happy to help. If not, I might take a stab at it myself.

I've not worked on the Chirp codebase before or trying to figure out the programming instructions for a radio, but I'm a developer, have some python experience, and a radio I'd like to use Chirp with!

(I see the online guides for getting started with support for a new radio, this is just really asking if anyone's already working on it.)
