Ah... now I see what happened. In Thunderbird, I see that original "ft857 pre alpha" email as coming from:3. FT857 patch didn't work per email "[chirp_devel] [PATCH 2 of 4] Set valid_cross_modes as needed" I assume we have to have the file first but it doesn't apply cleanly either wayYou need to apply his original patch (FT857 pre alpha) first, which adds the ft857 file (note in the patch 0/4).
