I have not used chirp since before the switch to wx. I'm on archlinux, arch does not seem to have a wxgtk4.0 package it does have wxgtk3.0. I'm going to have to spin up a VM with another distro. or try to build it.. Trying to setup a dev environment for chirp. Seems odd to me that arch would not have the package, maybe I'm not understanding something.

Have you tried? It works for me on 3.11 with 4.2.1, yeah. There seems to be some weird behavioral change with 4.2.1 that causes the window to start up in the background on macOS at least. If you're running it on some other platform with 4.2.1, I'd be interested to know if that issue manifests there as well.
