Hello, I initially used MS Windows to develop some changes to CHIRP. I am having a problem with TOX. It appears that it can not find the chirp modules and the version numbers. I tried building and testing under Linux and things worked fine. Can you add deps=serial to the [testenv:driver] section in tox.ini and see if that works? Added serial to tox deps and it gets a bit further, any thoughts? as before UNKNOWN-0.0.0.zp can't be write, and now we have no module named chirp. Is there something to be done with the build first? [chirp_devel] New Driver not registering

I have written a driver for the Radio Shack PRO-649 scanner, but it does not register in the directory. I can force it by manually adding the 'rs649' to the __init__.py file, and then it runs perfectly. But why won't it register itself? It is in the \chirp\drivers folder on my Win7 system. Also, does anyone know how to invoke the 'show_instructions' function in the mainapp? I want to provide some configuration hints. [chirp_devel] Patch to address improper treatment of unknown fields for Alinco DJ-G7 (#5275)

Hello After quite a bit of debugging I think we nailed it. At the time I was adding support for the DJ-G7 radio, I was not aware of a flag that was used to hide memory channels in the main band. The main band only supports a subset of modes and frequencies on this radio. My original code used this flag improperly, such that a channel was never hidden from the main band regardless of its settings. This does not do any harm to the radio, but such a memory channel is useless in the main band due to hardware constraints. More importantly, the original programming software by Alinco crashes when operating on a memory map pulled from a radio programmed with chirp if the flag is not used correctly. After some discussions with and advice from Emiel, I have completed a patch that adds proper support for this flag. The patch is attached. See #5275 for a more in-depth discussion of the issue. Attached is the first release of the proposed new Baojie BJ-218 driver with full dual-vfo settings. This should probably replace the Luiton Lt725uv, since it declares that radio as an alias of the BJ-218. Hi, I installed the standard CHIRP daily build which works fine. I have now installed Mercurial. The CHIRP repo, pip modules for TOX, lxml and serial resolved various errors, and python path issues. python chirp-0.3.0dev.py works When I try and run the box test I get the results below. it seems no CHIRP modules are found and /UNKNOWN-0.0.0.zip can't be right... also nicolass-Mac-mini:tests nicolas$ python run_tests.py Traceback (most recent call last): File "run_tests.py", line 27, in <module> from serial import Serial ImportError: cannot import name Serial What part of the setup have I missed? We have been working on the FT-70 driver and now the basics of it going. I would really appreciate a code review/once over of this driver from an experienced CHIRP developer. Just to get on track!
